HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR SKINCARE ROUTINE & HOW I LEARNED ABOUT IT
I recently have felt I need to take my skincare more seriously. The affects of aging is a concern of mine. I now get botox and have a skin care routine twice a day! I am no expert in skincare or procedures but I want to share the products that I used by recommendation from my esthetician and other professionals. My esthetician is Jill Miller located at Jill Miller Esthetics at 236 Commercial St. Boston, MA. I receive my botox by Teena Devine @_belladonnabeauty in Reading MA at Kaylash Salon. This skin care process works for me but may not work for all. I have dry, fair skin with normal consistency. Here is my four step process to improve your skincare routine:
Step 1: Cleanser
This cleanser is good for people with dry skin and its affordable on Amazon. I have very dry skin all year around and this is a gentle hydrating cleanser. My esthetician informed me a cleanser should not feel tight on your skin as it dries this is an indicator that it is not moisturizing and hydrating enough and may be aiding in the dryness of your skin. This is a lightly foaming cleanser.
Step 2: Toner
The toner is step three. It cleans any extra dirt or makeup on your face and balances the PH and tone of your skin. I apply a nickel size amount with a light and gentle patting of the product into the skin.
Step 3: Hyaluron Skin Essence
Following the toner is the Hanskin brand of hyaluron essence. I pat this lightly into the skin as I do with the toner. The hyaluron is also known as hyaluronic acid. This product helps slow the affects of aging. I have dry skin so this product helps with dryness as well as reducing wrinkles and fine lines. The substance also helps with wound healing.
Step 4: Moisturize
I use the Tula Hydrating day and night cream to finish off the four step process. The moisturizer locks in all the product in steps one through three. I previously used a moisturizer only, which I learned does nothing but coat the dry skin and not soak into the pores. The use of the products prior to moisturizer locks them into the pores and allows them to work their magic!
Now in my thirties I realize how much you skin can be affected bu lifestyle choices and care. I am more educated about what we choose to do, eat, and put on our bodies affects the elasticity and aging process of skin, our largest organ. A skin care routine is important for nourishing and caring for this organ and the routine makes it easy to create a habit you will continue to do. Creating these habits improves the skin care routine and dedication to it will show results quickly. Be sure to consult with an expert about your particular skin type and what products work best for you. Different brands will feel different even when they are the same types of products, therefore it is important to get an expert opinion and monitor the process.
As busy women we sometimes but our needs and routines last. Skin care is important enough to be a habit done everyday with care and dedication. We put enough stress on our bodies and lives with our jobs and children and responsibilities, we should take care of the skin we live in. I know I want to be youthful and radiant for as long as possible so it is time to be responsible for my body and my care!
